As part of the 2008 Parish Plan an action point was to produce walking leaflets.
In 2013, a source of funding was identified which supported the production of such leaflets – the Meres and Mosses Landscape Partnership Scheme. Together with funding from the Parish Council, Shropshire Council and local companies The Sun Inn and Fernwood Caravan Park a small group of volunteers have researched and written these 5 walks.
You will find paper copies of these walks in various locations around the Parish – please help yourself to a copy.

Walk 1 – Circular route from Welshampton via Hampton Bank. Fields and canal using paths, tracks and lanes with 7 stiles (3½ miles, 1½ hours approximately).
Walk 2 – Circular route from Welshampton via Blakemere. Fields, meres and canal using paths and lanes with 4 stiles (5½ – 7¼ miles (depending on route), 2½ – 3½ hours).
Walk 3 – Circular route from Welshampton via Bettisfield. Fields and canal using paths, tracks and lanes with 13 stiles (6¼ miles, 3 hours)
Walk 4 – Circular route from Welshampton via Ellesmere. Field paths, tracks and canal without stiles (bring a torch) (6¼ miles, 3 hours)
Walk 5 – Circular route from Welshampton via Ellesmere. Field and woods using paths and tracks (may be muddy) 23 stiles (8¼ miles, 4 hours plus)
Parking available at Parish Hall, adjacent side road on A495 and at Sun Inn with proprietors’ consent.
