On Saturday 10th, ‘Our Gallant 35’ exhibition will centre on the lives of the people of Welshampton, Lyneal and Colemere who never returned. It will be held at the Parish Hall starting at 11am. There will be an exhibition of information on all 35 of our fallen soldiers and what life was like ‘at home’ during the War. Loaned artefacts and Parish maps from the era and today to compare will also be on display.

‘A Tribute in Words and Song’ will commence at 2.45pm. This production will include a specially written poem composed by local poet, Ted Eames, a short play, a poem by one of the fallen soldiers remembering Colemere, and a specially written song, ‘The Place We Called Home’. Admission will be free and refreshments will be available to purchase.

It is not too late to add artefacts to the collection to be on display. If you have something you believe others will be interested to see, please contact the Carole Warner on 01948 710672.

The organisers are appealing for people to help on the day. Could you spare an hour or two to help steward the event? Please contact Carole.
